Fear not, the player still boasts an assortment of features plus you receive iriver’s great build quality.

With a close resemblance to the Samsung MyFit, the S100 has a distinctive and colorful appearance with its “soft silhouette design”, an appearance not seen in other iriver player’s before it. As another take on the original iPhone/iPod Touch, the S100 features a distinctive button control (with haptic feedback) located at the bottom of the player with subtle navigational controls enclosed around it.

The video/DAB-capable device features a 2.8-inch screen (320 x 240). Expandable via microSD, the player comes in either a 4GB or 8GB storage capacity. File support is as we expect from an iRiver product with support for a host of file types including: MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, ASF, FLAC, and APE audio; MPEG-1/2, MPEG-4, WMV and H.264 video.

While not quite in the same league as the YP-RB with its 60 hours of continuous audio, the S100 comes quite close boasting either 42 hours of audio, 7.5 hours of video, or 6 hours of pure DMB on a single charge. Although no official word on price or availability, the device should be slated for a release within the next couple of weeks (if all the football promotional images are anything to go on) with prices starting at around $100 for the 4GB version.

Promotional video after the jump..

[Source: gmp3]

Related posts:

Entry-level iriver T8 looks to impress

Coby MP837 is no entry-level player

Entry-level Kenwood MG-F500 disclosed

Entry-level iriver T8 looks to impress

iRiver

Speculation of a a T8 player is officially more than speculation after iRiver announced it's new iRiver T8 audio-only MP3 player which doubles-up as a USB storage dongle.
Related posts:

iriver S100 is worthy entry-level player

Entry-level Kenwood MG-F500 disclosed

Coby MP837 is no entry-level player

Speculation of a a T8 player is officially more than speculation after iRiver announced it’s new iRiver T8 audio-only MP3 player which doubles-up as a USB storage dongle.

The entry-level player is available in a single storage size (4GB) but in a selection of colors not limited to white, black, pink, light blue, light green, yellow, and orange. After recently receiving release announcements on the K1, E160, and E170, iRiver have unveiled the M31 and M41 Shining Revolve. If you’re looking for the glitz and glamor of the K1, we suggest you turn your head away…

The entry-level M31 is effectively a 2-in-1 MP3 player and USB storage device. Packed with a tiny OLED screen (128×32), the gizmo supports MP3, WAV, and WMA file types. With an unknown storage capacity, the M31 has dimensions of 80.5 x 26 x 11 mm and weighs in at around 22 grams.

Without a doubt, the M41 is the more interesting of the two. Its packs a nicely-sized 1.8-inch display with support for both audio and video playback. Codec support is a slight mystery; however, we do know that the player will support MP3/WMA audio files and AVI video files.

The battery life of 15 hours of continuous audio and 4 hours of continuous video are on the lower side of the scale, but at a cost of around $65 USD, who’s complaining? The device measures in 8 x 8 x 40.4 mm and weighs in at 45 grams.

No word on release dates.

[via gmp3]

Related posts:

Hallods FH8800 lacks the curves

iRiver N20 – full details emerge

iRiver Smart HD receives official announcement

iRiver E160, E170 show up on website

iRiver

Carrying a strong resemblance to the iriver E150, iriver have announced the new E160 and E170. That could be all about to end. The guys over at imp3.net have uncovered two new players on the Korean version of the iriver site. Unfortunately, country-sensitive redirects and language barriers on the iriver site have prevented us from catching a look at the player’s ourselves.

Carrying a strong resemblance to the iriver E150, iriver have unveiled the new E160 and E170. Other than different model names, there is not a clear-cut difference between the two models.

The players pack a 2.4-inch (320 × 240 resolution) TFT LCD screen. We’re holding our breaths that it’s touchscreen, but we could be mightily disappointed.

Available in a 4GB storage capacity, the players have an added benefit of a Micro SD card slot. Taking a page out of the Sony S540, the players feature built-in stereo speakers for audio and video playback,

The battery life is rather respectable – a continuous 17 hours audio or 5 hours video playback on a single charge. Additional features incorporated into the device include an FM radio, voice recorder, line input, photo viewer, and text reader.

Expect to shell out 149,000 won (~$131 USD) for these bad boys. We think there’s a strong chance that we could see a stateside appearance.

Related posts:

iRiver N20 makes appearance on iRiver website

iRiver B30 officially released

Viliv P3 Prime appears on Viliv website
