Who could ever forget Microsoft’s flagship Zune original media player? Well, apparently the folks over at Coby can’t get it out of their heads after the company revealed it’s new Coby MP620 PMP.

The new player is being marketed as a cheaper alternative to the iPod nano with its audio and video capabilities. While it has an initial appearance of a Zune, it’s dimensions and design bring it more inline with the nano.

The device packs a nifty 1.8-inch LCD display, but no word on a pair of matching speakers. The device will be available in both 4GB and 8GB flavors packing an FM tuner (and a host of other features).

Available in black, red or blue, the player will retail for just $29.55 or $43.05 for the 4GB and 8GB respectively. Eat your heart out, Apple.

Not a word has been heard from Viliv since the HD5 was unveiled at CES at the beginning of the year, but fear not because Viliv have been rather busy behind the scenes.

Their newest player is the Android-powered Viliv P3 Prime which has officially made an appearance on the company’s website. P3? Anybody remember the glorious Samsung P3? The Prime gets a zero in terms of originality in its name.

The PMP features a nice and large 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 480×800 and 720p HD support.  It has been suggested that the Prime will be running a dual OS Android (v2.1) and Windows CE combination.

Functioning as both a audio and video player, the Prime will support MP3, FLAC and APE amongst others; no word on supported video file types. Available in capacities of up to 32GB, the Prime will include a microSD slot for storage expansion. Additional features include an accelerometer, SRS sound, HDMI output, WiFi support, and an optional DMB-tuner.

The device is only 9.8mm thick and weighs in at around 105 grams. No word on price or availability.

Coby have announced their newest MP3 player called the Coby MP570 Micro, but this player couldn’t be further away from looking like an MP3 player.

With a lack of screen or any visible tactile controls, we’re not too sure exactly how the device is controlled. We have a good feeling that Coby might have taken a page out of Samsung’s book with their TicToc.

The device comes with a non-expandable, integrated flash memory of 2GB. File playback is limited to only MP3 and WMA files which rules out audio geeks who have a large collection of lossless FLAC files. The player has a built-in battery which is recharged through the included USB adaptor.

If you thought that there couldn’t possibly be another Hello Kitty MP3 player to brace the Korean market, you would have been wrong. While not quite as cool as the ice version or glossy version of the character, this player holds its own (relatively speaking).

The player, manufactured by Taylor Technologies, has been dubbed ‘Play Hello’ (when directly translated). Enclosed in a bright-pink silicone case to prevent bumps and scratches, the player weighs in at only 160 grams providing up to 10 hours of playing time and available with a pair of matching earphones..

The device is slated for a Korean-only release and will retail for around 69,000 KRW (or ~$61 USD).

Take one look at SAFA’s new Pooky, and you’ll probably be shouting, “Foul!” Although this is being marketed as a fitness MP3 player, the device shares a close resemblance with previous iterations of both the iPod Classic and nano series of players.

As it goes in the blogosphere, details are rather sketchy. Available in combinations of red, black, and white, the Pooky comes packed with 4GB of storage. If the above image is to anything to go by, the player packs a cheapish PMOLED-style built-in display.

The palm-sized device also includes (amongst others) a FM tuner and voice recorder. No word on pricing or availability…

If you were a fan of the T7, then the Ramos T7+ will look familiar. An enhanced version of the T7, the T7+ is not too noticeably different on a quick glimpse. In fact, you’ll have to give it a good hands-on look.

Much for much the same, the T7+ comes with a 4.3-inch screen, supports 720p playback, and supports a slew of formats not limited to RMVB, AVI, WMV, VOB, FLV, and MPG.

But I’m sure, you are interested in the differences. Well, the T7+ now comes with its own camera and 720p recording support. Last but not least, the T7+ includes an HDMI output to view video on the big screen.

While we wait for word on price and availability, we’re going off to debate whether the T7+ would make for a better rebranded Archos Vision A43VB.

Korean-based INS Mobile has unleashed its second PMP at the CeBIT consumer electronics show in Germany. A couple of days ago, we got a look at the unique ividi PMP which has been followed by the ME2 PMP.

Not to be mistaken for a phone, the ME2 is all about the 3.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen display (16.7M colors) in combination with its sexy user interface. With video and audio support, the ME2 goes beyond expectations with support for Flash.

No word on storage capacity, but consumers will be rest-assured with the inclusion of a microSD slot. Additional features include a DMB tuner, FM tuner, and picture gallery/viewer.

The ME2 has a thickness of 12.2mm and weighs in at just 80 grams.
