It’s seems like Samsung are letting those Europeans have all the fun with their upcoming players – the Samsung CM3, R0, and R1. We have already seen one promotional video of the Samsung R0 targeting the French. In another move, Samsung have released a dual R0 and R1 promotional video targeting the Italians.

Still no word on when exactly we will see these players hitting our local stores, but the wait will be worth it. We return once we have completed translating this video…

Since the leak of the Samsung R0 at the end of July, little has been heard about this swanky little player. The player which is speculated to circulate worldwide has hit Samsung’s Russian site (thanks gmp3). Did anybody say, “Coming soon?”

Samsung YP R0

Also coming to light is a Samsung YP-R0 promotional video which has been released in French (which only increases our speculation of a worldwide release).  Unfortunately, still no news on a North American release or literature indicating the sorts.

Recall that the Samsung R0 features:

  • 2.6-inch TFT LCD screen displaying at 320 × 240 pixels
  • 8 GB of storage expandable via microSD
  • support for AAC, ASF, FLAC, MP3, OGG, WAV and WMA audio files
  • support for MPEG4, Divx, Xvid, WMV, H.264, and RMVB video files
  • continuous audio playback of 35 hours audio or 5 hours of continuous video playback
  • FM Tuner and DNSe 3.0 sound engine
  • dimensions of 93 x 52 x 8.8 mm and weighing in at 60 grams

Samsung YP CM3 mp3 player

We’re in for a treat – Samsung has unleashed its latest beast called the Samsung YP-CM3.

The stylish piece of equipment packs a lengthy 3-inch screen (400 × 240 pixels), ideally suitable for the embedded TV player capabilities – undoubtedly the biggest selling point.

Video file support is admirable with support for but not limited to MP4, AVI, and WMV. No word on supported audio files.

Samsung YP CM3 release date

Similar to the Sony S540, the YP-CM3 comes equipped with an external speaker; although, no indication if it is in stereo.  Additional features incorporated into the device include an FM tuner, voice recording capabilities, and an e-book reader.

The player will be available in a choice of either pink or black. No word of a release date.

Looking more like a phone than a player, Samsung today unveiled its latest creation – the Samsung M1 player. Although leaked a couple of days ago, Samsung have made an official announcement of the upcoming player at the IFA being hosted in Germany.

As the first player in line to the new “Beat” line-up, the player with its 3.3-inch screen will go up against the likes of Apple’s iPod and Microsoft’s new Zune HD. The nifty, little player offers 720p video playback via NVidia’s Tegra chipset while sporting a touch interface via “TouchWiz” (the interface used on the company’s mobile phones). The incorporation of the TouchWiz interface means that like the Zune and iPod, users will be able to download additional applications for the product – Apple be weary!

The Tegra processor also includes eight individual processors on one chip, including those for video, graphics, audio, and two ARM cores, which Nvidia said would work to minimize power consumption.

Available in either 8, 16 or 32GB storage capacities, storage is further expandable via the accompanying SD card slot. No too much stated on supported file types; although, we do know that the device is DivX compatible with easy “drag and drop” operation.

Additional features include a built-in stereo speaker, FM radio, voice recording and Bluetooth capabilities, AMOLED scratch-resistant metal design, wireless mobile games in 2D and 3D, advanced audio functionality, and an intuitive, Flash-based 3D user interface.

The M1 will be available in late September. Although the release date has been announced, there is no word on pricing.

Check out the video (below) of the M1 in action…
