The best Coby player yet, the Coby MP837, has started hitting store shelves across America. The MP837 PMP initially caught our attention at CES with its impressive 3-inch LCD touchscreen with haptic sensor and accelerometer.

There is a slight anomaly in the fact that the MP837 was supposed to be released in March, but it appears that Coby have decided to push the release date forward, considerably.

Although not yet in stock, both the 8GB/16GB versions are available for pre-order through Amazon priced at $101.99 and $127.99, respectively.

Engadget have published a video of the player in action while roaming around CES.

Specifications:

  • 3-inch touchscreen TFT LCD with advanced touchscreen controls with haptic sense feedback and auto orientation detection
  • 8GB or 16GB integrated flash memory
  • Plays music, video, photos, and text with support for a whole host of file types including popular open formats
  • Integrates FM radio, ID3 and LRC support for song and lyric information display
  • Rechargeable battery with 22-hour audio playback life on a single charge
