The French have really made a name for themselves in the PMP market, and it’s not difficult to understand why.  The latest PMP coming out of France is the Memup M26THD MP3 player.

This slick-looking player features a TFT-LCD screen stretching in at 2.6-inches (400×240) and features touch screen capabilities. Unfortunately, it does not appear that the 8GB storage is expandable through a SDHC slot. The device is a mere 9mm in thickness and is enclosed in an anodised aluminium casing.

Similar to its Archos counterparts, the device is capable of handling a host of file types including VI, RM, RMVB, FLV, WMV, MPEG4 video types; MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC, AAC and Microsoft PlayFX audio types; and JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP image types.

The rechargeable Li-polymer battery can play 12 hours of audio or 4 hours of video (on a single charge). Additional features include an FM radio with podcast, E-book capabilities, 8 equalizers, a dictaphone, and clock/calendar functionality

As the french do best, they have catered for a variety of languages – 16 to be exact (including English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian to name a few).

The M26THD will be available shortly retailing for 99 Euros or about $142.
