i-Station T4

One exciting product to be revealed at the IFA in Germany is the i-Station T4 PMP.  This power packing PMP is a device to behold.  If Archos’ 605 tickled your fancy, the T4 just might be up your alley.

Capable of 1080p HD playback via an HDMI 1.2 output, the T4 comes fitted with a touchscreen stretching a healthy 4.3-inches. Unfortunately, the screen displays at a lowly 480×272 resolution. This is a slight disparagement from Archos’ 605 featuring a 4.8-inch screen and displaying at a 800×480 pixel resolution.

Similar to its 605 counterpart, the T4 is wireless a/b/g capable but has one over on the 605 in that it includes Bluetooth technology.

While file support is not quite as impressive as the 605, the T4 does support MPEG1/2/4, MKV, H.264, DivX, XviD and WMV video formats.  Storage capacities are available in a choice of 8 to 32GB; however, it seems as if there is not an accompanying SD slot for further expansion.

Initially being released in Korea, the T4 will be available in Europe in November starting at $285 (EUR199) for the 16GB model, before making its way to the US in January 2010.
