Safa, a Korean firm renowned for its MP3 Players and cell phones, has released its new Xing MP3 Player. With an accompanying motto of ‘Art for Fun’, the Xing features 27 LEDs on the face of the device that can be programmed to display the icon of your choice. Incorporating the LEDs as a status indicator would have done marvels to replace the lack of a screen.

The 12mm thin device with its square shape, features touch-sensitive controls along the edges. It’s all about the number 12 because the player is capable of 12 hours of continouous audio playback on a single charge.
Audio file support remains somewhat of a mystery, yet Ubergizmo informs us that the device will “feature a high quality sound codec from DOLPHIN Integration of France.”
Price and availability yet to be announced…
