Teclast have announced their newest player, the Teclast X26, which is reminiscent of the Cowon iAudio 7. That’s not because of its looks, but because it appears to be video-capable. Think again. It’s all audio.
With is curved edges, black finish, and unique tactile control, the X26 is stylin’. With a black metal shell, the player has a tactile control which is an amalgamation of a control wheel and a push button. The metal-cased enclosure packs a 1.8-inch screen TFT LCD screen that offers a rather crisp picture.
The device supports MP3, FLAC, WMA, and APE formats all driven by a Rockchip RKnano. Don’t expect a variety in storage choice; it’s available in 4GB only. With a battery life of 25 hours of continuous audio on a single charge, there’s a good chance that you’ll run out of music before you run out of battery life.
The X26 offers a host of other features including FM tuner, lyric browser, picture viewer, and e-book reader. Expect an Asian-only release priced at the equivalent of around $29 USD.
