Just days before CES opens its doors for its 2010 exhibition, Viliv has unveiled an upcoming player called the Viliv HD5. There has been a lot of hype surrounding the Viliv N5 MID, but the new HD5, although in a different classification, deserves an equal amount of attention.
With its broad 5-inch display (800 x 480 resolution), the touchscreen-capable PMP comes in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB flavors. If storage capacity is a concern, you will be pleased to know that the player incorporates an SDHC slot for extra possible growth. The use of Windows CE as the OS is a slight disappointment, but I’m sure we can try overlook that.
Gathered a collection of 1080p files? Fear not because the HD5 will rip right through them without complaint. Additional features incorporated into the device include DMB/DAB tuner and HDMI port.
The best spec has to be the fact that all of the aforementioned features fit into a 13mm thick enclosure (let’s not forget the width and height – 130 x 83mm).
No formal word on a release date.
